Aesthetic Smiles Dental Spa
If you’ve lost one or more of your natural teeth, you may be thinking about using dental implants to replace them. At Aesthetic Smiles in Leicester, our experienced team of implant dentists have helped many patients to get their smiles back with the aid of implants.
Implants are small metal screws placed directly in the jaw bone in a minor surgical procedure here at our Leicester dental practice. Your dentist will carefully plan the placement of your implants to avoid any nerves or vital structures.
Once in place, dental implants act as replacement tooth roots. They will be left to heal for a few months before your permanent replacement teeth are attached to them.
Any dentist will tell you that it’s vital to replace any teeth you lose. At Aura Dental in Leicester we believe that dental implants are the best way to do this.
When we lose one or more teeth, our remaining teeth may become crooked and harder to clean as they move into the gaps. Our jaw bone begins to resorb, which can cause a sagging appearance in the face, and our gums shrink, which is why standard dentures often become loose. By stabilising your dentures with dental implants, we can prevent this from happening.
As well as stabilising dentures, dental implants can also replace a single missing tooth or several missing teeth. For one missing tooth your dentist will place a single implant with a crown, while for several adjacent teeth may be replaced with an implant-retained bridge. When several teeth are missing in different locations we may use individual crowns, bridges or a combination of both.
With proper care, your implants will last you many years – perhaps even a lifetime. You should visit our Leicester dental practice regularly for maintenance and hygiene appointments.
