Aesthetic Smiles Dental Spa
6 Month Smiles are an increasingly popular cosmetic dental treatment for adults and teenagers who want to correct aesthetic problems with the alignment of their teeth. At Leicester dental practice Aesthetic Smiles, our cosmetic dentistry team believe these discreet braces are both innovative and cost-effective when compared with standard metal “train-track” braces.
The secret to 6 Month Smiles is that they focus on the “social six” teeth – the front teeth that are seen when we smile. They use the traditional principles of orthodontics but modernise and adapt them to work more quickly and discreetly, using tooth-coloured wires and clear brackets so treatment will not be immediately obvious to the untrained eye.
At our Leicester dental practice we are keen to point out that while 6 Month Smiles are primarily designed for cosmetic correction and are not suitable for cases where major orthodontic work is required, at the same time they do help to improve the health of your teeth.
Straighter teeth are healthier teeth, because they are easier to clean. There are fewer gaps in which particles of food can get trapped and plaque bacteria can build up. If you have alignment issues with your front teeth you will know that, even with an excellent dental health routine at home, it is more difficult to clean crooked teeth without the help of a hygienist.
The name “6 Month Smiles” hints at the fast treatment time – but did you know that in some cases treatment may take even less time? The name comes from the average treatment time, and patients requiring a lesser degree of correction may have a shorter period of treatment.
